Several months ago we were given a freshly predated wallaby that was killed/lifted and licked clean. It did not look a thing like a dog attack. The Department of Primary Industries had Bill Atkinson take saliva samples from the injured areas of the animal.National parks staff watched. The first test was looking for canid markers came back negative. This was using Mt and nucleur dna testing. Then this was repeated, same again. Then samples were sent to WA.Different equipment/lab etc.Result came back canid.
